Twenty years of silence... one chance at redemption
After 20 years behind bars, Peg Rives argues to her parole board that she’s a
changed woman. A former drug-addicted sex worker with a violent streak,
Peg can now point with pride to her faith, sobriety, and exceptional skills in the
prison kitchen. But good behavior alone can't clinch Peg’s release. She must
prove that someone on the outside has her back. The one person Peg can
approach is her estranged daughter, Dorian, now a school teacher and mother
of two.
Dorian’s heart is deeply scarred and after an abortive meeting, she rebuffs her mother’s outreach. But their painful past holds their present in a death grip. Mother and daughter must now own their shared history and unlock, together, the 20-year-old secret that could throw open the door to freedom.
